Open a Minecraft server in the panel → Plugins or Mods tab → switch to Modpacks at the top. Search, pick a pack, pick a version, read the preview, click Install.
What the installer does
- Reads the pack: loader (Fabric/Forge/NeoForge), Minecraft version, file list.
- Stops the server.
- With clean install ticked: removes old mods, configs and loader files. Worlds, server.properties and backups stay.
- Switches the server to the loader and version the pack needs (even from Paper) and installs it.
- Downloads every mod file the pack references, skips client-only mods, bundles everything with the pack's configs and sends it to your server in one go.
- Done. You start the server and accept the EULA if asked.
Two to ten minutes, depending on pack size. You can close the page; the progress is shown when you come back.
RAM
The preview shows what the pack usually needs (3 GB for small packs, 8-10 GB for the big ones). If your server has less, it still installs but may crash or crawl, so upgrade RAM in the dashboard first.
Your players
They need the same pack on their client. Most Modrinth packs list a launcher link on their page; the Modrinth App installs it in one click. Same version as the server.
Limits
- Modrinth packs work today; CurseForge packs need an API key on our side. That is on the roadmap.
- Packs that bundle unmarked client mods can still crash the server on first start. The console names the mod (
clientside only mod); remove it frommods/and start again, or ask Kowalski. - Quilt packs are not supported; most have a Fabric edition.
