Get your server into the Rust server browser

Name, description, header image, tags and the settings that decide whether players find you, and why "Modded" matters.

Rust's in-game browser has tabs: Official, Community, Modded, Friends. Where you land is decided by your settings:

  • Any framework, plugin or rate change (Oxide, Carbon, gather rates) → Modded.
  • Vanilla settings and no framework → Community.

Lying about it (tagging a modded server as community) gets servers delisted by Facepunch.

What players see

  • SERVER_HOSTNAME: the name. Put the wipe cycle and rates in it: [EU] Pengu 2x | Weekly Wipe | Solo/Duo.
  • DESCRIPTION: the text panel. Rules, wipe day, Discord link, rates. Use \n for line breaks.
  • SERVER_IMG: header image URL (512×256 JPG/PNG on a fast host).
  • SERVER_LOGO: the small logo (64×64).
  • SERVER_URL: your Discord or website, shown as a button.
  • SERVER_TAGS: a comma-separated list like weekly, vanilla,EU,solo. Facepunch's tag list is fixed; unknown tags are ignored.

All in Startup; a restart applies them.

Not showing up?

The list updates a few minutes after start. Check that the query port works (players can add node1.penguhost.com:<query port> under Favourites). If the server is passworded or has server.hostname overridden by a plugin, the browser shows what the plugin sets.
