Plugins and their configuration

Where to get Rust plugins, how to install and configure them, permissions with oxide.grant, and the plugins every server ends up with.

Install

Plugins are single .cs files. Download from umod.org (free) or the author's site, upload to oxide/plugins/ (or carbon/plugins/) via the Files tab. The framework compiles and loads them within seconds, without a restart. The console prints Loaded plugin <name>.

Kowalski can fetch them for you: "install the Gather Manager plugin from umod".

Configure

The first load creates oxide/config/<PluginName>.json. Edit it in the Files tab; then reload the plugin: console oxide.reload PluginName (or c.reload on Carbon). No server restart needed.

Permissions

Plugins expose permissions; grant them to groups or players in the console:

oxide.group add vip
oxide.grant group vip kits.vip
oxide.usergroup add <SteamID64> vip
oxide.grant user <SteamID64> teleportation.tpr

oxide.show perms lists what a plugin offers. Admins: add your SteamID to the admin group or use ownerid <SteamID64> "name" for full console rights.

The usual set

  • Gather Manager: resource rates (2x, 3x)
  • Kits: starter kits
  • Teleportation (NTeleportation): home/tpr
  • Remover Tool, Building Grades
  • Better Chat, Admin Radar, Vanish
  • No Escape, Anti Offline Raid for PvE-ish servers
  • Wipe Scheduler: automatic wipes

Every plugin runs on the server tick. Fifty plugins on a 150-player server will show in performance; keep it to what you use.
