Automatic backups: how they work and how to schedule them

What your backup slots are, how a scheduled backup rotates, and how to set one up in two minutes.

Every server comes with backup slots: 1, 2 or 3 depending on the plan, up to 5 if you choose more when ordering or upgrading. A slot holds one complete backup of the server folder, stored separately from the server itself.

Making them automatic

Open the server → Schedules → Create schedule:

  1. Name: Daily backup. Cron: minute 0, hour 4, day of month *, month *, day of week * (every day at 04:00 server time). Tick Enabled.
  2. Open the schedule → New Task → action Create backup. Leave Ignored files empty (or put logs there to skip logs). Save.

That is it. Every night the panel creates a backup. When all slots are full, the oldest unlocked backup is deleted to make room, so the slots always hold your newest days. Lock a backup you want to keep (padlock icon in the Backups tab) and the rotation skips it.

What a backup contains

The whole server folder: worlds, plugins/mods, configs, logs. It is a .tar.gz archive; you can download it and open it on any computer.

Backups do not replace downloads

Backups live on our infrastructure. For anything you would cry about losing, download a copy now and then.
