When
When you cannot be online for every play session your community has. Usually around 15-20 regulars. Pick people who already help others in chat, not the ones who ask for the job.
In the game (LuckPerms)
Ranks with clear, small permission sets:
- Helper:
/kick,/mute,/co inspect,/tpto players. No/ban, no creative, no/give. - Moderator: Helper +
/ban,/co rollback, WorldGuard region editing,/vanish. - Admin: Moderator + plugin configs,
/lp, creative. This is you and maybe one other person.
Set it up: /lp creategroup helper, /lp group helper permission set essentials.kick true ... or use /lp editor in the browser. Give the rank with /lp user Name parent set helper.
In the panel
Only the people who need to restart the server or edit files get a subuser: console for moderators, files for developers. Nobody gets your website login.
The mistake
Giving OP or full panel access "for now" to a friend, then having a falling-out. Every server that got wiped by an insider had this story. Rights are easy to add later and painful to take back; start small.
