For a domain you bought at PenguHost you can create real mailboxes, for example info@yourserver.com or admin@yourserver.com.
Create a mailbox
- Dashboard, Domains, tab My domains, click Manage on the domain.
- Under E-mail enter the address (the part before the @), an optional display name and a password with at least 10 characters, letters and numbers.
- Confirm the checkbox and click Create mailbox. It takes up to a minute.
We set up the mail records of your domain (MX, SPF, autoconfig) automatically; they show a lock in the DNS list. Each mailbox has 15 GB of storage.
Price and payment
A mailbox costs the monthly price shown on the button, taken from your balance in advance. It renews every month. If your balance is too low at renewal, you get an e-mail; after 7 days without payment the mailbox is deleted together with its e-mails. You can delete a mailbox yourself at any time; the current month is not refunded.
Read and send mail
Open Settings for Outlook, Thunderbird and phones under the mailbox. Most apps only need your full address and password. If an app asks for details:
| Server | Port | Security | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Incoming (IMAP) | shown in the dashboard | 993 | SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing (SMTP) | shown in the dashboard | 465 or 587 | SSL/TLS or STARTTLS |
The username is always the full e-mail address. Webmail in the browser is linked there too.
Extra addresses (aliases)
Aliases are free: mail to support@yourserver.com or team@yourserver.com simply lands in one of your mailboxes. Add them under Extra addresses.
Good to know
- We do not store your mailbox password. Forgot it? Set a new one with Change password.
- When the last mailbox of a domain is deleted, we remove the mail records again, so you could use another mail provider (for example Google Workspace) with your own MX records.
- If the domain expires or you move it away, the mailboxes stop working. Keep copies of important e-mails.
