Proximity voice chat works on our servers; it just needs its own UDP port.
Simple Voice Chat (Paper/Fabric/Forge/NeoForge)
- Add a port. Note its number.
- Install the plugin/mod via the *Plugins*/*Mods* tab. Restart once to generate the config.
- Edit
plugins/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties(mods:config/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties):
port=<your extra port>
bind_address=0.0.0.0
voice_host=node1.penguhost.com:<your extra port>
- Restart. Players install the same version of the mod on their client; the in-game overlay shows a green icon when connected.
Plasmo Voice
Same idea: plugins/PlasmoVoice/config.toml → port = <extra port>, ip = "0.0.0.0", and set host.ip/host.port to node1.penguhost.com and the port.
"Voice chat unavailable"
- The port in the config is not one of your allocations → check the Network tab.
voice_hostempty and the game port differs from the voice port → setvoice_hostexplicitly.- Player's client mod version ≠ server version → update both.
- A firewall on the player's side blocking UDP → rare, but test with a phone hotspot.
